1984

Visilume was founded in 1982 under the name of Mason & Morton Pharmaceutical Engineering and was changed to Visilume Ltd in 1984.

2003

In 2003, Andrew Green took over the running of the company and oversaw a period of considerable growth.

2008

Visilume Ltd relocated from Watford to Glossop in the Peak District, just outside Manchester.

2012

Visilume purchased the portable pressure vessel supplier Euro Pressure Vessels,
EPV provide a range of vessels from Alloy Products Corp. based in Milwaukee, USA.

2014

In 2014 Visilume Ltd became Employee owned, and an Employee Ownership Trust was established which held 60% of the company shares on behalf of employees, thereby creating a structure that would secure the long-term future of the company, and the core objectives of continued independence and excellent customer service.

2018

Current leadership team of Jodie McHale and Steve Holland appointed.

2019

Our warehouse/office base in Glossop we had occupied since 2010 was purchased and planning began on creating a new base that would be as eco-friendly as possible, but built around our current needs and standards.

2021

In 2020, Andrew decided to take another step back from the company, and sold his remaining 40% holding, thus creating a 100% employee-owned business.

2024

New office area and warehouse redevelopment started

2025

Redevelopment of office space, warehouse and employee areas completed.

Having remained an independent company since it was founded in 1984; Visilume has built up a strong UK and International customer base by prioritising customer service and providing easy access to technical expertise. In 2014, we transferred a controlling stake of the company to employees, and in 2021 we became fully employee-owned.

We have now created a structure that will secure the long-term future of the company, and the core objectives of continued independence and providing excellent customer service.
